I've spent the last several years building production AI systems — from civic tech platforms to enterprise workflow automation — and I've learned what actually matters when you're trying to make AI work in the real world (vs. what sounds good in a tweet).
In early 2026 I ran the ADD Protocol experiment: 31 consecutive days building 4 production systems using only AI tools, logging over 1 billion tokens consumed and 1,053 architectural decisions. That work also led to developing the ADR methodology for AI-assisted architecture. These workshops distil what I learned — the mental models, the techniques, and critically, the limitations.
